Come And Join Us!

Who Are We?
All parents, guardians and carers of children at Dorchester St Birinus school are automatically members of the PTA (Parent Teacher Association). There is a committee of approximately 12 volunteer parents and teachers.

Why Are We Here?
The main aim of the PTA, which is a registered charity, is to raise money for ‘extras’ which will benefit the school and pupils in their education e.g. help with transport costs for school outings, magazine subscriptions, playground equipment, laptops, books etc.

What Do We Do?
The committee helps to organise a number of fundraising and social activities throughout the year. One of the most popular events is the bingo evening for the whole family which is great fun and also raises some funds. Another very successful event is the Easter fair , The PTA are often involved in providing refreshments at various venues such as the May dancing and summer concert.

When Do We Meet?
We usually have about 6 very informal meetings a year. There is no pressure to attend if a committee member is unavailable. The meetings are very relaxed and we certainly have a good laugh!

Would You Like To Join Us?
It would be fantastic if you could spare some time and get involved with the PTA. If you are interested in being involved in any way, we would love to hear from you.
