Our week

We have been busy here in school this week with all sorts of exciting things going on.

Oak Class enjoyed a trip to the Winchester Science Museum on Wednesday. They had a great time and learned lots of new things about space and light.

Hazel Class have been creating their own Anglo-Saxon Gods and they had forest school on the playground.

Willow Class Year one and two have been looking at features of non-fiction writing and writing about firefighters. Reception children have been writing independent sentences this week.

All children enjoyed the book 'Change Sings' which was our choice for World Book Day this year. Each class looked at a different aspect of the story. Reception children made musical instruments. Year One and Two wrote about kind acts and drew guitars. Hazel Class thought about how one voice or one small act can make a big difference and Oak class learned all about the life of Martin Luther King; particularly the 'I have a Dream Speech' which is referenced in the book. We all enjoyed looking at the wooden spoons that had been made at home and the creativity on show was impressive!

COMPASSION

Mrs Grenfell led our Monday assembly this week with the theme being about compassion for our world and considering just how huge our universe is.

Revd. Jane came in to lead assembly on World Book Day and showed the children lots of different types of Bible - some of which were very old and precious.
