Dorchester St Birinus Church of England School

Despite the wintery weather we have had another great week here at St Birinus and I am so proud of the grit and resilience shown by our Year 5 and 6 children as they achieved their 'Bikeability' level 2 certificates this week. One poor group battled through the freezing rain to learn how to ride safely but they enjoyed a hot chocolate afterwards! Well done everyone.

Year 4 enjoyed a fun science session this week - learning how the digestive system works. They used various things to create a model and enjoyed creating 'poo' once they'd learned about the stomach and the intestines.

Willow Class have had a busy week this week. They have started work on their Christmas show and are really excited about it. Reception donned their thermals yesterday and went to forest school and Year 1 continue to impress us with the progress they are making with their writing.

Hazel Class have been learning how to write recipes. They have also been engaged in some exciting science work; looking at teeth of different creatures and trying to work out what their diets might consist of.

Once again I have felt immense pride at being told how wonderful our children are; not just by the Bikeability instructors but also by two other visitors who were in school for various reasons this week. Our children are always so polite and helpful and we are very proud of their attitude.
