Curriculum
At Dorchester St Birinus we have planned an aspirational curriculum that enables our children to discover the world beyond our school and our locality.
We encourage our children to ‘let their light shine’ by showing them that they can be responsible for change in the world and enable them to have the power to make choices. We encourage our children to be curious about the world and ask questions.
Our curriculum celebrates diversity and we make a point of challenging stereotypes.
Children understand why they are learning the content of our curriculum and we are able to adapt our curriculum to follow the interests of the children.
We are passionate about developing independence and resilience in our children and this is reflected in the way we use forest school and our outside areas to supplement our curriculum.
Our curriculum is text led – meaning that the learning will be inspired by a book.
Our curriculum is made accessible to all our children. We fully comply with the equality and disability act 2010. Please also see our equality policy and plan.

If you would like more information about the curriculum, please contact your child's teacher via the school office.
